Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, is a simple treatment with a number of positive health effects. In a soft-shell chamber, the air pressure gradually increases to three times greater than normal pressure. In chemistry, Henry’s Law tells us that the amount of a gas dissolved in a fluid is directly proportional to pressure. As pressure increases in the hyperbaric chamber, more oxygen dissolves into the bloodstream. All the added oxygen helps the body fight infections, create new immune & stem cells, recover healthy brain function, and improve circulation. By increasing pressure, hyperbaric therapy improves oxygen circulation throughout the body.

What is it used for, and what’s the cost?

Hyperbaric therapy is research-supported for a variety of medical conditions. By infusing the brain and body with oxygen, HBOT has the potential to improve a variety of conditions, including enhancing quality of life and longevity. HBOT is used for anemias, autism, concussion, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, migraines, infections, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, heart disease and as a complementary cancer therapy. The cost varies based on number of sessions, and most conditions require multiple treatments. A single treatment costs $100, the standard price for soft shell hyperbaric therapy. For a series, the price per treatment is discounted.

How safe is hyperbaric therapy?

The safety of our patients is always the highest priority. This is why our physicians trained directly with leading experts in the field of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. All our doctors are certified by the International Hyperbaric Association (IHA). HOBT is approved by the FDA, and our doctors are well versed in all safety protocols and precautions. The most common side effect is aggravation of sinusitis, because hyperbaric therapy increases pressure in the middle ear. The pressure change is similar to diving in 10 feet of water. As a treatment, soft-shell hyperbaric oxygen therapy is incredibly safe and approved for patients of all ages.
